Healing Pathways Outreach
NJ
Goal $8500
Healing Pathways Outreach serves hundreds of families across Georgia dealing with developmental disorders, with a particular focus on early intervention and long-term support for autistic children. In many cases, non-verbal children struggle to communicate even their most basic needs, leading to frustration, isolation, and delayed learning. The Touch for Therapy initiative is designed to break down these barriers using technology.
This project will fund the purchase of 25 touchscreen tablets specifically configured with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) apps like Proloquo2Go and TouchChat. These tools allow children to build sentences and express themselves using symbols, images, and even voice output. For many children, these devices represent their first opportunity to “speak” and connect with the world around them.
The impact of these devices goes beyond communication. Touchscreen tablets are also valuable educational tools that help children with fine motor skills, attention span, and routine building. Each device will be customized to suit the individual needs of the child and will include visual schedules, learning games, and digital storybooks designed for sensory-sensitive users.
Therapists from Healing Pathways will provide personalized onboarding for each family, ensuring that parents and guardians know how to use the devices effectively. This includes in-home visits, digital coaching, and monthly progress check-ins. The goal is to create a seamless experience where technology enhances—not complicates—the family’s daily routine.
Equity is at the core of this campaign. Many of the families served by Healing Pathways come from low-income households and would never be able to afford this kind of specialized equipment. Your donation helps close that gap, giving every child the tools they need to grow, communicate, and participate in their communities with dignity.
